OK - can you imagine a very small washing machine which also dries if you want it to but it takes about 2 hours to do the washing part? If you watch it, it seems to move the drum a little, then rest for a while, then move it again. We managed to get two small loads of laundry done but we hung them on the line to dry.
It is very hot and humid here (I know it is there also, I'm sorry.) The great winds have left us. Le Mistral is said to blow in 3day units - 3 days, 6 days, 9 days, etc....I hope it comes back soon. It is from Siberia and while it is no longer a cold wind, it does provide some relief from the heat. We have no air conditioner - just a couple of fans. It is supposed to be even hotter tomorrow - 95 is projected.
We are off shortly to Avignon to try to do a little shopping at the department stores. I think I really need that little flimsy cotton dress!
I think next we will explore Avignon a bit and perhaps go see the roman theatre in Orange, just north of Avignon. I spent time today researching the beaches to the south...it is time to visit the Mediteranean and get in that water, so perhaps that will be our day on Sunday.
We'll keep you posted.
